Rapid test for the qualitative detection of gonorrhea antigen on a
sample of female cervical and male urethral swabs. For professional in
vitro diagnostic use only. The Gonorrhea Rapid Test (Swab) is a rapid
immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of Neisseria
gonorrhea on female cervical and male urethral swab samples to assist in
the diagnosis of gonorrhea infection. Gonorrhea is a sexually
transmitted disease caused by the Neisseria gonorrhea bacterium.
Gonorrhea is one of the most common infectious bacterial diseases and is
most frequently transmitted through sexual intercourse, both vaginal,
oral and anal. Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the
Neisseria gonorrhea bacterium. Gonorrhea is one of the most common
infectious bacterial diseases and is most frequently transmitted through
sexual intercourse, both vaginal, oral and anal. The causing organism
can infect the throat, producing a severe sore throat. It can infect the
anus and rectum, causing a condition called proctitis. On women, it can
infect the vagina causing irritation and discharge (vaginitis).
Infection of the urethra can cause urethritis with burning, painful
urination and discharge. When women experience symptoms, they often
notice vaginal discharge, increased urinary frequency, and discomfort in
urination. The spread of the body to the fallopian tubes and abdomen
can cause severe abdominal pain and fever. The average incubation of
gonorrhea is approximately 2-5 days following sexual intercourse with an
infected partner. However, symptoms can appear up to 2 weeks later. A
preliminary diagnosis of gonorrhea can be made at the time of the visit.
In women, gonorrhea is a common cause of pelvic inflammatory disease
(PID). PID can cause internal abscesses and chronic, long-lasting pelvic
pain. PID can damage the fallopian tubes enough to cause infertility or
increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy. A urethral or cervical leak
swab can be collected and analyzed using the Gonorrhea Rapid Test
Cassette (Swab). The Gonorrhea Rapid Test (Swab) is a rapid lateral
scroll immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of the
gonorrhea antigen in the female cervix and male urethra. In the test, a
specific antibody for the gonorrhea antigen covers the test line area.
During the test, the extracted antigen solution reacts with a gonorrhea
antibody present on the particles. The compound migrates upward by
reaction with the gonorrhea antibody on the membrane and generates a
colored line in the test area. The presence of this colored line in the
test area indicates a positive result, while its absence indicates a
negative result. As a procedural control, a colored line always appears
in the control line region, indicating that the correct volume of sample
has been used and that the membrane has been soaked.
