The Rapid Test for FYL (Fentanyl) is a rapid immunochromatographic test for the detection of Norfentanyl, a metabolite of Fentanyl. It is a powerful narcotic analgesic, the abuse of which induces addiction or dependence. It is primarily a mu-opioid agonist. Norfentanyl is also used in conjunction with other generic anesthetics and as an anesthetic for induction and maintenance. Fentanyl belongs to the potent narcotic analgesics and is a special μ-opioid receptor stimulant. Fentanyl is one of the variants listed in the United Nations “Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961”. Among the internationally controlled opioid agents, Fentanyl is one of the most commonly used for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. Following repeated injections of Fentanyl, the patient will have a protracted opioid withdrawal syndrome, such as ataxia and irritability, etc. which leads to addiction after taking Fentanyl for long periods of time. The test uses a monoclonal antibody to selectively detect high levels of Norfentanyl in urine. The FYL rapid test (Urine) gives a positive result when the Norfentanyl in the urine exceeds 20 ng/mL.
